Homemade Falafels!! 🧆🥙
Created a mediterranean falafel bar for our Mother’s Day lunch and it was a hit! 💐
Ingredients you need for falafels:
– chickpeas – onions 🧅 – garlic 🧄 – almond flour (1 tbsp) – coriander – cumin – salt 🧂 – pepper
Place all the ingredients in a food processor and blend together roughly. Falafel dough doesn’t need to be very smooth, it adds texture if some chunks of chickpeas show through. I used an ice cream scoop to measure out each falafel ball so you get the right size each time.
Bake for 25 minutes at 400 degrees, flip, and then bake for another 20 minutes.
We enjoyed our falafels in lettuce wraps 🥬 or tortillas with tomato 🍅, carrot 🥕, homemade sweet potato hummus 🍠, and red spicy sauce. A healthier and low-carb alternative to pita bread! (If you want to learn how to make sweet potato hummus, apoorva_attempts for the recipe!)
